The firm was founded by early growth pioneer John M. Hartwell in
1961. We have concentrated on growth stock investments for over
40 years, maintaining a long-term investment performance record
of which we are proud.
It has long been our conviction that, by investing in growth companies
that are fundamentally sound, we need be less concerned about the
market’s short-term volatility and can be more confident, over
time, of achieving above-average capital appreciation.
We firmly believe that growth stocks have an important role in any
diversified portfolio, protecting against inflation and providing
for an opportunity for growth of principal. This belief is based
both on our own investment results and the historic performance
of growth stocks generally.
